Father Eric’s Final Letter:
Dear Parish Family,
For the past thirty-seven years of my priesthood, I have had the task of writing a letter for the bulletin each week. Sometimes when I had not made the deadline, I would have Marianne find something to fit. This is the last “pastor’s corner” installment. I have had a great experience of priesthood and the past thirteen years have certainly been no exception. It seems that the good Lord saved the best assignment to the last.
I am deeply grateful to the entire parish family for these wonderful years. The parish has been blessed with an excellent and dedicated staff along with the deacons and pastoral associate. They are all dedicated and have always made things much easier for me. Please recognize and continue to support them.
After thirteen plus years you are finally getting a new, young and energetic pastor. Welcome him to the parish and support him. A good experience of a priest’s first pastorate goes a long way in shaping and sustaining a priestly vocation. Fr Jonathan and I are both taking new paths on our ministry and life journeys. Pray for both of us.
From the time I arrived here, your prayers, support and kindness has been generously bestowed on me. I will remember you in my prayers and masses. As the Cardinal pointed out in his letter, I will have extra time for prayer!
May God bless you abundantly,
