busy family schedules. When planning family trips, please check the CCE calendar to see when classes are not
in session.
Good attendance refers to:
Students are responsible to make-up any curriculum missed after the allotted number of absences allowed in
sacramental preparation classes. Please refer to the Sacramental Handbook for more information.
If your child is absent from CCE class:
We will assume that you, as a parent, have determined that your child/ren is/are unable to attend for a
valid reason; you do not need to call the CCE office with a reason unless you prefer to do so for your own
peace of mind.
It is your responsibility to make sure that your child completes the make-up assignment, if applicable.

The Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA) is the norm for initiation of all adults; it also applies to children of catechetical age (generally age seven) since, under the Code of Canon Law, they attain the status of adults at the age of reason regarding sacraments of Initiation. (RCIA 18) Thus, any unbaptized child over the age of reason who desires to become Catholic can participate in the Christian Initiation process, which leads them to celebrate the three sacraments of Initiation: baptism, confirmation, and Eucharist (Holy Communion). The RCIA process is adapted to meet the specific needs of children and youth 7 years of age to 11th grade.

The Archdiocese requires the offering of Circle of Grace, the safe environment training program for ALL students enrolled in CCE. The goal of the Circle of Grace program is to educate and empower students to participate in a safe environment for themselves and others actively.
The Circle of Grace program teaches students to seek help from a trusted adult and reinforces God’s
presence in their real-life struggles.
Your permission is needed to have your student participate in the Circle of Grace Program.
If, after prayerful consideration, you decide to exercise your right to have your student excluded from
participation in the Circle of Grace class, you must choose the “opt-out” on the Registration Agreement before the lesson is scheduled to take place. This is the only class you can have your student opt-out of that will not affect your student’s attendance record.
